Studentship is fostering a good “student career”
for your student.
This topic helps you present your child’s school work to them as their “job” or “current profession.
“Topics include time-management, front-loading work, the parent role in homework, preparing for tests, studying, organization of study material, getting and remembering the homework assignments, collaboration with the teacher on study skills, communication with teacher on homework and assignments, helping your child to develop self-discipline, honesty in doing assignments, remembering to turn things in, accountability, punctuality, morning organization, scheduling after school activities balancing with homework, setting up a non-distracting homework environment, setting up “study groups”, managing group projects, grades, pleasure reading as a support, how not to nag and give your child space to achieve, when to get tutoring, coaching or other outside help. This talk includes advice for parents and teachers on how to facilitate and give their children the tools they need to follow and reach their destiny, without trying to “create, form and design” their destiny.
The goal is also to “empower”, as opposed to “enable” and “empowering” our students.
These are lofty goals; we will cover what we can in this talk, and save the rest for subsequent talks.
